People are full of creativity. It’s incredible that we can create ingenious solutions to different kinds of problems, including those involving animals. From DIY home projects to simple life hacks for animal care, nothing beats a person’s own creation – not even AI.
But don’t just take our word for it! Here are five creative solutions by people who have utilized their brains and hands to improve the lives of animals.
COOL PET CARRIERS, LITERALLY
Heat is the number one enemy of animals here in the Philippines. That’s why 22-year-old Enrico Miguel Velasquez created a smart pet carrier with active cooling, called the Peplab Active Cooling Carrier.
The carrier is made of polypropylene and prioritizes airflow. It features an integrated cooling module to combat heat stress, which is also detachable for easy cleaning.
To improve airflow, the carrier is equipped with a compact fan mounted on top, which can be powered by a power bank.
The inspiration behind Enrico’s invention is his own Cat, Pepper. One day, while commuting, he saw how his Cat struggled in the heat.
“That moment pushed me to design something that could prevent heatstroke in animal companions. It’s a way to give owners more control and peace of mind during travel,” Enrico said.

CAT-SIZED BUILDINGS

YouTuber Xing’s World flexes his creative muscles by building a miniature town for his Cats called Cat Town.
On his channel, you can see his process for creating the Cat-sized buildings. So far, Xing has built a movie theater, a subway platform, and a supermarket. His latest project is a Cat-sized MeowDonald’s (food not included, unfortunately).
Aside from Cat Town, he also built shelters for the community Cats in his village. He posted a video where he challenged himself to make 100 insulated Cat houses in two days. He noticed that it was already snowing in his village, and he got worried about the community Cats in the area.
With the help of volunteers, he managed to finish the shelters and distribute them around the village.

DOG LIFE HACKS

Creativity is not just about building elaborate pieces for your animal companions. It can be as simple as a life hack.
On Instagram and TikTok, Mika the Golden Retriever offers tips and tricks for furry buddies, from simple recipes for treats to DIY toys for energetic Dogs. For instance, Xing, Mika’s human (no relation to the YouTuber Xing from before), shares a recipe for breath mints for Dogs with stinky breath.
Xing also has a tutorial on what to do if your Dog keeps destroying their enrichment toys. It goes to show that you don’t need to spend a lot of money on toys for your Dogs to be mentally engaged.
Aside from the educational content, you also get to see Mika being an adorable Golden Retriever in your timeline.

FURNITURE FOR THE FURBABIES

If boring Cat trees are not your thing, you can call on The Pet Project PH to make you a unique one!
They build custom furniture for your fur babies, and that includes other animals like Hamsters, Hedgehogs, and even Tortoises. The Pet Project PH has built various shelters for different types of animals, feeders, Cat trees, and pet bowl holders.
As a true lover of animals, The Pet Project PH also donates its earnings to animal shelters such as Pawssion Project. They build feeders and shelters for different animal shelters in the Philippines.
