Dogs are wonderful companions — they alleviate the stress experienced by their human guardians, among other things. Sometimes, however, they are the ones who experience considerable stress. What signs should you watch out for to ensure that your canine friend isn’t high-strung?

WHAT COULD MAKE A DOG STRESSED?

There are many factors that might contribute to a Dog’s stress. A new environment, for instance, can lead to considerable anxiety. Fireworks and loud noises during New Year’s Eve can also make a Dog run for cover.

There are many other causes that might be unique to a Dog’s situation. A little bit of observation whenever your canine friend starts showing signs of stress goes a long way.

DON’T OVERDO IT!

As much as you want to cuddle your stressed Pooch to relieve their stress, over-comforting may lead to even more stress! Instead of immediately gathering your Dog in your arms, observe quietly and give reassurance by gently speaking to them. They can sense when you are stressed yourself, so calming down and showing them that you’re fine also helps.
