A Leatherback sea turtle was found by residents in Poblacion, Talibon, Bohol on Sunday, July 12.

The Leatherback, also known as the lute turtle, is the largest living turtle and and also the fourth heaviest modern reptile.

Sadly, the turtle was found dead and had been turned over to the Department of Natural Resources and local government for investigation. The Bohol Environment Management Office has already been in contact with anyone in authority who can help in preserving this “super rare” leatherback sea turtle.
