The Philippine Circuit, an annual event organized by the Philippine Canine Club, Inc. (PCCI), makes its comeback after two years at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City. The event will run from January 12 to 15.
Dog show for all
The Philippine Circuit showcases different purebred Dogs from around the world. For the 8th edition, there will be a total of 8,412 entries: 5,892 from the Philippines and 2,520 from 16 other countries, including Thailand, Korea, Indonesia, and the USA.
The Circuit will be showcasing the following.
- Four CACIB Shows with one doubling as a Crufts Qualifier Show and another doubling as a Philippine Winner Show;
- Four Asia Pacific Champion Shows;
- Four South East Asia Champion Shows; and
- Three Philippine Derby Winner Shows, integrated within the three CACIB Shows.
Heading the 17-person panel of judges is Tamas Jakkel, the current president of the Federation Cynologique Internationale (FCI), the ruling organization for national kennel clubs in the world.
This kicks off the celebration of PCCI’s 60th anniversary. Along with it is the release of their commemorative book, 60 Years of Purebred Dogs in the Philippines, the PCCI Legacy, featuring the purebred Dogs that made their mark in the country.
Introducing the Philippine Forest Dog
The Philippine Circuit will also formally introduce to the world the Philippine Forest Dog, or Asong Gubat, which will hopefully be recognized by the FCI as a Dog breed from the Philippines.
