For one lively weekend at The Tent City of Manila Hotel, the red carpet belonged to purebred dogs whose poise, precision, and focus turned every step into a display of discipline and grace. On July 12 and 13, the third edition of the Manila Dog Show drew breeders, handlers, and fur-parents into a world-class show.
Organized by the Philippine Canine Club, Inc. (PCCI), in collaboration with the Manila Bulletin, the two-day spectacle celebrated the finest examples of dozens of breeds, from the commanding Doberman and the loyal Golden Retriever to the always photogenic Pomeranian. The show aims to continue promoting responsible animal guardianship, showcasing canine talents, and celebrating the bond between dogs and their humans.

DOGS IN ACTION

POMS RULE THE RING
The fiercest competition peaked during the much-anticipated Battle of the Champions segment, where top dogs from each breed group faced off under the expert eyes of eight esteemed judges. After a series of precise evaluations and tightly contested rounds, the results were clear: the Pomeranians had stolen the show.
Crowned overall champion of the 2025 Manila Dog Show Battle of the Champions was Dog No. 85, Prince Kennedy Von SSP of Sinar Surya Pomeranian, a stunner who trotted the ring with charm and composure worthy of royalty. Handled with precision by Theerasak Saengmuang and owned by Elihento Erick Tjong Sinar of Sinar Surya, Prince Kennedy was a portrait of breed excellence from coat to character.
Close behind was Dog No. 88, CN CH Sun Poms Love Cory, who took home the 2nd Best award, followed by Dog No. 112, Phil HOF Tian Kong Xally XY, securing the 3rd Best title with equal grace.
Also advancing to the finals was an all-star mix: two Corgis, a Pug, a stately Rottweiler, a crowd-pleasing Golden Retriever, and a sleek Doberman, each representing the best in their respective classes.

Reneé, an all-breed judge, lent wisdom shaped by decades of officiating prestigious shows from the UK to Taiwan to Brazil.
Representing the Philippines was Orlino Hosaka, whose first license dates back to 1991. His extensive experience across breeds, from French Bulldogs to Siberian Huskies, gave local credibility to the show’s high standards.
Mukul Vaid, a former construction consultant turned full-time canine authority, impressed with over 50 years of breeding and judging through the Silver Clouds kennel. Sharon Masnick, with 11 years of judging expertise, brought sharp attention to breed precision.
From Japan, Toshinori Omura brought credentials from top European and Asian shows, along with his experience as a breeder of Pomeranians, Malteses, and Shiba Inus. Rounding out the panel was Fabián Arienti, a licensed judge for Poodles, Maltese, Papillons, and Pomeranians who has lent his expertise to competitions in Russia, Mexico, and beyond.
Their collective presence elevated the Manila Dog Show 2025 into a truly international affair, further affirming the Philippines’ standing in the global dog show circuit.

The venue also turned into a pet lover’s mini shopping haven, thanks to booths from Pet Buddy, Farmina Pet Foods, Pet Express, and more. The Manila Hotel added its signature elegance to the atmosphere.
Manila Bulletin, one of the organizers, set up a booth showcasing its newspapers and magazines, while also lending its media presence to ensure the show received the spotlight it rightly deserved.
