“Our hearts are broken as we have lost our best friend, our Guardian of our Galaxy Mr Oreo Raccoon,” wrote Layla on her Facebook post. “Oreo you made so many people’s lives happy. You have been an amazing ambassador for raccoons everywhere.”

Oreo the Raccoon also gained fame after coming to the red carpet with Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn during the movie debut in Hollywood.

Without Oreo, animators of the movie might not have captured the right movements and behaviors of Rocket, which was voiced by Bradley Cooper.
