Aja Trier, is a New York-based artist and was a professional full-time artist since 2003. She currently owns and manages Sagittarius Gallery on the same year.

It was only very recently that a lot of attention drew into her after an educational blog mistakenly shared her Eiffel Tower painting as a work of art by Van Gogh.

“I have always painted in an impressionist manner, but did not think my work looked particularly like Van Gogh’s. Selling your work online, people tend to share and abbreviate what they are sharing for their audience,” Trier told Bored Panda. “I had painted an Eiffel Tower piece I called ‘Seine’ in 2011 that people started sharing on Pinterest with the caption ‘Eiffel Tower by Van Gogh’ and it spread like wildfire.”

However, the great artist died in 1890, while the Eiffel Tower’s construction was finished in 1889. Trier took the situation into her own terms and now created a whole series of Van Gogh-styled paintings entitled, “Van Gogh Never.” It was a series of paintings that the artist failed to see.

Trier had fun on her paintings and incorporated paw-some dogs into her art!

She said she has always been inspired by Van Gogh’s works.

“We had a lot of art books in the house when I was young, so I am sure the first time I saw a Van Gogh was through them,” Trier told Bored Panda in an interview. “The first time I saw one in person was on a college trip to NYC in 2001.”
