The only known white giraffe in the world is expecting her second calf, announced Kenya Wildlife Service on Monday.

Based in Ilshaqbini Hirola Sanctuary that is located in Ijara sub-county in Garissa, the white giraffe is only one of its kind – making it a critically endangered animal.

The giraffe first gave birth to a male calf in February 2017 and is now pregnant to her second, which gives everyone hope to the future of these animals’ population.

This is a great breakthrough for the critically endangered animals, whose gestation period happens between 14 to 15 months.
