A sperm whale was found lifeless on the shore of Hadji Mohammad Ajul town in Basilan on Thrusday, July 11.
Hadji Mohammad Ajul Mayor Ibrahim Ballaho said the whale was already dead when local fishermen found it on the shore.
The 20-foot animal was opened up in Barangay Pintasan as the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources identified the species of the whale.
Officials said investigations on the incident are still ongoing.
