Buboy’s remains were transferred Thursday at an animal cemetery in Capas, Tarlac.
Buboy, who gained popularity after a video of him waiting by the faculty room in Mabalacat City College in Pampanga for his long-time caretaker, professor Carmelito Marcelo, who died very recently, died from a hit-and-run accident yesterday.
According to one of the teachers, he followed a school guard and was run over on the highway. An investigation on the incident is still underway.
“This mind-numbing incident, a tragic end to Buboy’s story, mirrors how we neglect the loyal and loving askals – exposing them to dangers even when we have the chance to take care of them. They deserve better – loving families and secured homes,” Animal Kingdom Foundation, a Tarlac-based non-government organization, posted on Facebook.
AKF also posted the transfer of Buboy’s remains to their animal cemetery, where their volunteers “prepared a simple yet decent shrine for this very special mutt.”
They added that anyone who wants to pay their respects to the loyal animal companion is always welcome to visit at their center in Cubcub, Capas.
