In celebration of the feast of St. Roch, patron saint of Dogs, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna announced on her Facebook page plans to implement various pet programs in Manila.
The mayor plans to open an animal shelter and clinic, offer free anti-rabies vaccines for animal companions, and implement a training program for proper pet grooming.
Aside from that, a portion of the Manila South Cemetery will be allocated to deceased animal companions.
Mayor Honey plans to implement these programs in September.
