Two Dachshunds tried to attack a cobra to save their owner’s one-year-old son, but one of the hounds died trying to fight it off at their residence in Barangay Lanao, Friday afternoon.
A CCTV camera in a residence fast food by manager Jaim Selim caught the accident, wherein it shows the two dogs trying to bark off the cobra, which managed to enter their home. The cobra was bitten several times by the dogs, but it only got stronger and spewed venoms towards the dogs.
The black dachshund looked like he absorbed most of the attacks and died minutes later. Meanwhile, the other dog was hit in the eyes with venom, but it survived. Selim said he immediately brought his dog to the veterinarian for treatment.
On the other hand, the cobra also died on the spot.
If not for the two dogs, Selim’s one-year old son who was sleeping inside, could have died. In a Facebook post, Selim said he was grateful for his dogs’ “exceptional courage” for keeping his son safe and away from harm.
