During the London premier of Captain Marvel, the latest movie based on the Marvel Comics, many fans were surprised to see another star handing out paw-tographs.
It appears like there’s a new celebrity in town and it’s not even Captain Marvel herself.
Say hello to Goose, the cat.
Goose is the companion animal of Carol Danvers (real name of Captain Marvel, portrayed by Brie Larson). Watch the movie now and you’ll see Goose is actually closer to the ever strict and formal Nick Fury (played by none other than Samuel L. Jackson.)
Anyone who saw the movie claimed Goose was a scene-stealer and dubbed the cat as the superhero everyone needs.
In the comics, the feline was originally named Chewie. According to the Insider, the renaming of the cat’s character was “a nod to ‘Top Gun’ and Danvers’ role as a fighter pilot in the ‘80s.”
The cat’s character has a vital role in the movie (I mean, look at the poster!). Goose also shares a lot of screen time with Captain Marvel and Nick Fury.
