After Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) announced a new memorandum that allows pets to ride Public Utility Vehicles (PUV) last April 26, Grab will soon launch GrabPet and grant pet owners’ wishes to bring their animal companions with them.
GrabPet is a special feature for 6-seater drivers. It may be more pricey than the normal six-seater car ride because of its special features, but it is guaranteed to provide passengers with a comfortable and convenient ride with their fur-babies.
The revised memorandum circular 2019-019 allows pets to be transported via public utility vehicles under important provisions.
For now, only dogs, cats, turtles, hamsters, rabbits, and fishes will be allowed on GrabPet, and all of them must be accompanied by their human companions. It is also important to note that pets with parasites and/or fleas are prohibited.
GrabPet will accept a maximum of two medium pets or one large pet. Grab provides drivers of GrabPet with special equipments, such as a kennel big enough for one large breed, two medium breeds, or two cats. A water proof cargo liner for the rear area is also provided, along with a pet barrier.
For passengers, they must bring their pets’ muzzles or leashes.
