Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF), in partnership with Robinson Malls and Happy Pets Club, conducted their adoption drive named Home at Last: Pet Adoption Day at Robinson’s Galleria’s Activity Center in July 2022.

It was not the first adoption drive that AKF conducted. The previous ones were held at Robinson’s Magnolia, Eastwood City Mall, and Ayala Mall Vertis North.

EMPTY CRATES, FULL HEARTS

There were nine Dogs and two Cats up for adoption at the event. All of them were rescued by AKF from either illegal meat trade or abandonment.

There was a short screening process for potential adopters. The event went on from 9 AM to 5 PM.

Luckily, all the animals were adopted by the end of the day.

FREEBIES GALORE

Those who brought their own animal companions also had the chance to give their fur-babies free vaccination, deworming, and vet consultation. A few activities gave out free stuff, such as treats, shampoos, and Dog or Cat food.

SPECIAL CANINE GUEST

Monmon, a Dog who found his loving family, made a special appearance. Monmon was a former community Dog who had a transmissible venereal tumor on his head. Children used to throw stones at him.

Luckily, last year, he was rescued by AKF. They brought him to the vet to remove the tumor. After many months of treatment and rehabilitation, he was brought to one of AKF’s adoption drives, wherein he was adopted.

His appearance at Robinson’s Galleria was an inspiration. It brought hope that one day, all of the Dogs and Cats would find their forever-homes.
