Listen up, animal lovers! It’s almost time for you to do that iconic spaghetti slurp once again as Disney’s live-action remake of ‘Lady and the Tramp’ is almost here!
Disney released a new photo of the adorable dogs on Tuesday, on Disney Twenty-Three magazine’s fall issue. Lady, the American Cocker Spaniel, and a mongrel pup Tramp, can be seen side by side on the photo before their romantic relationship fully blossoms.
Just like its original movie, this remake will showcase real-life rescue dogs: Tramp is a dog from the streets and meets Lady, who once lived with an upper-class becomes a stray.
Tramp is played by rescue dog named Monte and will be voiced by proud pet parent Justin Theroux to his own rescue companion, Kuma. Monte came from a kill-shelter in New Mexico by Halo Animal Rescue and then transferred to a shelter in Phoenix, where the film’s animal trainer, Mark Forbes, adopted him.
On the other hand, Tessa Thompson will be voicing Lady, who will be portrayed by Cocker Spaniel, Rose.
Charlie Bean (The Lego Ninjago Movie) will direct the live-action film, with a script made by Andrew Bujalski (Support the Girls). Janelle Monae, Sam Elliot, Benedict Wong, Kiersey Clemons, Yvette Nicole Brown, Thomas Mann, Ashley Jenson, Arturo Castro, and Adrian Martinez are among the star-studded cast.
This 1955 classic remake will premiere on November 12, only on Disney’s streaming service Disney+.
