Divers were stunned to see a giant jellyfish the size of a human off the coast of south-western England.

The jellyfish was thought to be a barrel jellyfish. One of the divers, broadcaster and biologist Lizzie Daly, said they have spotted the creature near Falmouth and described it as “breathtaking.”

“What an unforgettable experience,” Daly said. “I know barrel jellyfish get really big in size but I have never seen anything like it before!”

Daly was exploring the waters with other professional divers as part of her campaign “Wild Ocean Week.” She described the jellyfish as big as she is and she claimed it was the best thing she has ever done in her lifetime.

Barrel jellyfish are known to be the largest species of jellyfish that can be found in British seas, but to find one as big as a human is very rare.

Typically, they grow up to one meter (3.2 feet) and weigh up to 25 kilograms (55 pounds), according to The Wildlife Trusts.
