K9 Dogs Venom, Paul, and Bella from the 10th Infantry Division found the bodies of Ely and Thelma Utabay buried under the rubble in Brgy. Palacapao, Bukidnon after a landslide struck on October 15.

The rescue mission lasted five days. On Facebook, netizens praised the Dogs for their heroism.

K9 Dogs get discouraged, too

Even though K9 Dogs are amazing, they get discouraged from time to time.

According to an article in the New York Times, during 9/11, the search-and-rescue Dogs began to get discouraged. They lost their motivation after finding only dead bodies. The handlers had to stage “mock finds” to make the Dogs feel successful for finally identifying “survivors”.
