Let’s all take the time to appreciate the beauty of smol-ness and cuteness of these adorable tiny birds that look exactly like flying cotton balls.

Called Long-Tailed Tit, this cotton ball is quite common throughout Europe and Asia. They have tails really long in comparison to their tiny bodies. An adult Long-Tailed Tit can grow up to 13 to 15cm (5-6in) long, and that includes their tail, which counts for more than half of their length.

These adorable birds can mostly be found in Hokkaido, Japan, which is the second largest island in the country and is home to a number of preserved wildlife areas, including six national parks and 17 quasi-national and perfectural parks.

Most Long-Tailed Tits have gray or brown “eyebrows” and more brown feathers, but the ones found in Hokkaido have pure white faces that make them look like flying cotton balls, just with black tails and wings.
