For some areas around the world, it is possible to buy live turtles as food. Two men were recently out on a trip in Papua New Guinea and found out about this. Appalled by what they saw, they did the only thing they could do to save them.

Arron Culling and Mark, his co-worker, found two sea turtles at a local market in PNG. Though sea turtles are classified as endangered or vulnerable, it is still legal to catch them in some countries, such as Mexico, Australia, and PNG.

Arron and Mark decided to buy the two turtles for $50 and drove them to safe area to set them free in the ocean. After that, they bought and rescued 10 others, giving the poor turtles a second chance at life.
