Rendy Etter, a local R&B singer, was told that his dog Gemini needs to undergo an emergency surgery, or it will likely die on the very same day.
Gemini swallowed a bottle top while playing with the daughter of Etter’s girlfriend. Afterwards, the dog started vomiting excessively. Etter took his pooch to the veterinary office, from which the vet told him that they will have to immediately have the surgery.
The vet found the blockage in Gemini’s intestines and he was already in dire straits, which will result to a more costly surgery. Etter was fired from his day job in Indianapolis, because he spent most of his time worrying about his animal companion.
Etter was fired from his day job in Indianapolis, while trying to drive around the city, vet to vet, just to save his fur-mily.
“I’m sitting here watching TV, and I’m literally thinking he was dying that night,” Etter said. “I knew I didn’t have the money for the surgery, but I knew in my mind that was what had to happen, I put my car up for sale for $1,000 less than what I was actually wanting to take for it.”
Feeling almost helpless, Etter posted his car on Facebook and tried to sell it, but when social media users knew the story behind why he was doing it, his story has gone viral and reached those from the Street Outreach Animal Response (SOAR) Initiative.

The organization raised the funds for the surgery, which resulted to a successful operation on Gemini.
“I never thought I’d be one of those people to catch the miracle, you know what I’m saying?” Etter told WXIN.
