Khemjira Klongsanun was running her seventh mile in a 26-mile Chombueng marathon in Thailand last week, when she noticed an abandoned puppy in the middle of the race.

Other runners continued to run and avoided the pup, who was on the roadside, but Klongsanun slowed down her pace and approached the puppy.

Klongsanun scooped the trembling puppy into her arms and draped him in a cloth to shield from the scorching heat of the sun.

She ran the next 19 miles with the puppy in her arms and never let go as both of them crossed the finish line together.

Though the race ended, Klongsanun decided to keep the puppy with her and take him home.

The puppy is now named Nong Chom and since then, has been introduced to Klongsanun’s other fur-babies.

Klongsanun tried to look for Nong Chom’s family from where he’s been found, but there was no one there and it seems like he was truly alone.

But thanks to Klongsanun, Nong Chom is no longer abandoned and has found his fur-ever home!
