Freddy the enormous Great Dane officially breaks two world records. The Guinness World Records has crowned him the world’s tallest dog and world’s oldest Great Dane.

When the gigantic dog was measured in 2018, he was about 1.035m (3ft x 4.75 in) tall and weighed 196 pounds. If he stands on his hind legs, he is about 7 feet and 5.5 inches tall. Now, he is around seven years old. He currently lives with his owner Claire Stoneman in Leigh-on-Sea, Essex.

“As a puppy, he was the run of the litter, I actually got him a couple of weeks early than I should have done as he wasn’t feeding off mum,” Stoneman said. “I had no idea he was going t get this big at all.”

According to a report by Telegraph, Stoneman spends about £10,000 per year for food. “Every day he has 1kg of minced beef, 250 grams of casserole steak and about 300 grams of liver.”

Freddy also lives with his sister, Fleur. When asked what the two Great Danes loved doing, Stoneman said they ate away her sofas – 26 sofas to be exact were destroyed.

“They were eating them when they were puppies, until they were about 12 or 15, just blatantly chewing and destroying them while I was out working,” she said.
