Silvo Siamo lives with his five-year-old mini bull terrier Sparky in Italy. As their lives changed after the government put the city into quarantine, they tried to look for alternative activities they can do at home to keep them happy and healthy.

Siamo loves to work out, but Sparky, not so much. “Sparky is a lazy dog,” Siamo told The Dodo in an interview. “He likes to stay with the familg and be cuddles.”

Oftentimes, Siamo takes a video of Sparky, showing how much the dog hate walking outside. He usually gives up in the middle of their walk and lets his dad carry him home. However, with his human companion stuck at home with him, Sparky decided it’s about time he joined Siamo for a sweaty workout.

“For Sparky, working out together is something fun,” Siamo said. “Usually, he puts himself nearby where he can wait for kisses during our workout.”

Sparky positions himself under his dad when Siamo’s doing some push-ups or squats so he can get all the kisses he needs.

“In these days of the quarantine, we are constrained to stay at home and to pass the time we work out together with Sparky,” Siamo added. “[He’s] helping us between the cuddles and the kisses to pass the days with serenity and to make us almost forget the emergency in which we are living in Italy.”
