Two months after the mind-boggling interactive storytelling in Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, where viewers are asked to choose for the character, Netflix is back with another show to challenge its users once again.
This time, viewers will have to make decisions for Bear Grylls.
Bear Grylls, a United Kingdom star that first appeared on the television with Man vs. Wild on Discovery Channel for five years (2006-2011), where he shared extreme survival techniques in extreme environments.
He has been really busy doing similar shows for years, and now, Netflix has announced on Monday the new live-action series “You vs. Wild,” which will show the adventures of Bear Grylls through the jungles and forests.
Compared to Man vs. Wild, this new show by Netflix will be interactive, which means viewers will make the decisions that will lead to where the episode will go.
“You’ve got two options of what to do here,” Grylls tells the viewer in a teaser trailer that Netflix released. “Either step really tentatively, or crawl like a seal.” This was followed with shots of Grylls wingsuit flying, hiding in a tree above a barking wolf, and even starting a fire.
“I’m so proud to deliver this first-of-its kin live-action interactive series, really giving viewers an all-access pass to explore the world and its landscapes in my boots,” Grylls said in a public statement.
The eight-episode season will debut on April 11, which has been directed by Ben Simms and produced by Electus and Bear Grylls Ventures with Grylls one of its executive producers.
