A runway Paw-shion show especially organized to showcase the talents of the pet owners and their dogs.
Three days of fun fur all at SM East Ortigas were capped off with an exhibit showcasing various pet couture pieces by selected pet couture designers, and a pet fashion competition.
Two popular designers embody this philosophy. The first is Prince Charles Galang, from Novaliches, Quezon City, who started creating mostly traditional Filipino pieces back in 2014. This pet lover believes that bonding with his pets can take all forms, and that pet fashion is one of them. Of his aesthetics, local pet fashion icon Bernie Alfonso says, “PCharles’ creations are always a work of art and a feast for [the] eye.”
The second designer, Elmira Gonzaga dela Rosa, is considered to be a human and pet couture expert. From Taytay, Rizal, Elmira grew up among garments and had many sewing influences; she was greatly inspired by her mother in creating masterpieces that show her passion and creativity. Her love for making pet fashion pieces was ignited by joining competitions beginning three years ago. Bernie comments, “Elmie’s creations are born out of passion and genuine love for her craft and her pets. She is someone to watch out for.”
