When was the last time you checked your Globe Rewards points? (No judgment – we usually forget, too!)

In case you missed it, Globe’s G-Gantic Goals campaign just proved how small actions + community spirit = massive impact. With just 150,000 donated Globe Rewards points (that were going to expire anyway), they turned that digital generosity into Php 800,000 worth of aid for rescue and welfare group Pawssion Project.

Yes, you read that right. Your throwaway points can become kibble, kennels, litter sand, meds, and more for over 640 rescue Dogs, Cats, and other animals at shelters in Bulacan and Bacolod.

What is Pawssion Project?

Founded in October 2018 by Malou Perez, Pawssion Project was born out of a heartbreaking reality: Dogs on death row in a pound, lined up to be killed by gunshot.

Malou couldn’t just watch. Armed with nothing but courage and a few loyal friends, she pulled off her first rescue in Bacolod and changed hundreds of lives.

From that moment on, things snowballed. Reports of abuse, neglect, and strays in crisis started flooding in.

Their mission expanded. By mid-2019, Pawssion Project opened a second shelter in SJDM, Bulacan.

Today, they’ve…

  • Rescued 2,500+ animals
  • Found forever homes for 1,050+
  • Spayed/neutered 3,800+
  • Sheltered 640+ rescues, including Dogs, Cats, Rabbits, Goats, and Birds — at any given time

But it’s not just about the numbers. It’s about why they do it.

Second chances

Pawssion Project aims to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome abused, abandoned, and neglected animals.

No fluff. Just relentless compassion.

Their ultimate vision? A Philippines where animal-friendly communities thrive, and kindness to all living creatures is the norm, not the exception.

They aim to uphold the Five Freedoms for all strays:

  • Freedom from hunger and thirst
  • Freedom from discomfort
  • Freedom from pain, injury, or disease
  • Freedom to express normal behavior
  • Freedom from fear and distress

Because every creature deserves their freedom, no matter their past.

Collective compassion

“This campaign reflects Globe’s belief in the power of collective action to build a more compassionate and sustainable future,” shared Peter Redan Ramirez, Head of Loyalty at Globe. “With All-New Rewards, customers, especially the youth, are empowered to engage in advocacies they believe in.”

And they really did show up. Those donated points were transformed into Php 400,000+ worth of collapsible playpens for the Bulacan shelter and a Php 400,000+ pet nursery for the Bacolod shelter.

Beyond donations, Globe mobilized around 30 to 40 volunteers through its Community Builders Program to lend hands-on help. These student volunteers fed, bathed, and played with rescues, all the while cleaning shelter facilities and offering moments of joy to Animals who, for the longest time, didn’t know what kindness looked like.

Let’s be real: These students probably went home covered in fur, a little muddy and forever changed.

Your points expire; animals shouldn’t!

We’ve all ignored that Globe text saying “Your points will expire in 3 days.” (To think that some of us don’t even know where those points go. Now, we know they can save lives!)

Next time, instead of letting your points expire, you can use them for a good cause! Pawssion Project is a permanent donation partner on the GlobeOne app. That means you can keep supporting them year-round.

No pressure, just paw-sitive impact.

Why this collab slaps harder than a Cat zoomie at 3 AM

This campaign? Not a one-off. It’s a blueprint for how corporate power + youth energy + digital tools can collide for the greater good. It’s also a low-key reminder that helping doesn’t have to be loud or expensive.

You don’t need a vet degree or Php 10,000. Sometimes, it’s just 10 points. A few minutes and a visit. A repost. Each of these matters.

It’s a low-key reminder that helping doesn’t have to be loud or expensive.

Barks and meows

Let’s zoom out for a sec.

The Animals at Pawssion Project, the senior Dogs who were left behind, the Cats who survived abandonment, the Rabbits who once knew nothing but cages – they’re not just statistics. They’re beings.

They each have a story. And with every donated point, you become part of it (aww).

Maybe you’ll never meet the Dog you helped feed. Or the Cat who finally felt safe for the first time. But they’ll feel it. That full tummy? That soft bed? That belly rub from a Globe volunteer? That’s your kindness in motion.

This collab between Globe and Pawssion Project reminds us that real change doesn’t always come from big gestures. Sometimes, it comes from tiny taps on a screen. Tiny taps that lead to real tails wagging.

So go ahead. Open that app. Let those points do something. Be the reason a rescue animal gets another shot at life.

Because in a world that often looks away… you didn’t.

Maybe you’ll never meet the Dog you helped feed . . . But they’ll feel it.

Tap a button, change a life.

As simple as ABC, here’s how you can help the Pawssion Project.
