Gavel, a German Shepherd puppy, was recruited to become a Queensland Police Service Dog, but his trainers soon realized he was not suited for the job.
He was fired from his job “for being too friendly.” Instead, he was given a new career!
Gavel landed a new career working for the governor of Queensland, where he has been given the official title – Vice-Regal Dog.
As a vice regal dog, Gavel greets visitors at the Australian province’s official home and workplace of Queensland governors and other politicians.
He also attends official functions and sits side by side with the governor on briefings and other meetings.
Watch Gavel’s silly adventures here as the master greeter!
