Queen Elizabeth II has lost one of her last two remaining dogs, just weeks before Christmas.
Vulcan, a dachshund-corgi cross, died a few weeks ago at Windsor, according to a report by The Sun. This leaved the Queen with another dorgi, named Candy.
In 2018, the 94-year-old Queen has lost Willow, the last descendant of her original corgi Susan, who she received on her 18th birthday in 1944. The Queen was very fond of her dogs that a palace source told CNN that “clearly the loss of a loved pet is upsetting.”
The Queen’s dogs have always been on the limelight. Four of the royal dogs appeared with the Majesty on the cover of Vanity Fair in 2016. Willow even appeared with the Queen and James Bond actor Daniel Craig during the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.
