Don’t take it personally if this frog looks like he’s not too happy to see you. He’s not really judging you or anything, it’s just how he really look – grumpy. This amphibian may look so intimidating thanks to his grouchy face.
The rain frog (Breviceps macrops) is native to the coast of Namibia and South Africa. They are listed as vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) due to habitat destruction from road expansions or diamond mines.
When threatened, this grumpy frog often lets out a fearsome roar and wildlife photographer Dean Boshoff got close enough and captured the frog’s reaction when he entered its territory.
