In the early hours of Valentine’s Day, it appeared like someone had it hard.
A rat, who looked like it just passed out from drinking for the Hennessy liquor bottle it was holding, gained internet fame.
Chris Williamson took the photo on Monroe Street and Ralph Avenue in Bed-Stuy around 11 in the morning on Valentine’s Day, according to a report by the NBC New York.
Williamson captioned it with: “Just another day in New York City” and has garnered 12,000 retweets and 36,000 favorites as of posting time.
Several Twitter users commented that the rat might have been drinking away the pain of a lost love. But, one of the best ones involved other animals who seemed to be drinking too.
Stand-up comedian and actor Patton Oswalt joined the conversation, saying the rat has been out shooting for the sequel of animated Pixar movie, Ratatouille.
Another user @javi_muffin said Texas has the same situation.
It appears like “Hennesy Rat” is the new star of New York City, trudging after the footsteps of other animal stars in the city that never sleeps, like Pizza Rat, Pizza Raccoon and Bagel Pigeon.
