A stray orange tabby desperately pawed at a window of a woman in Quebec, Canada, asking for help.

The unnamed woman was stunned to find the orange cat pawing at her window in the snow. She took a picture of the stray cat, who was in bad shape, and contacted Marie Simard, the owner of Un Chat a la Fois rescue shelter, who immediately rushed to help.

“[The cat] had rotten teeth, frostbite, a bite wound (he was bleeding somewhere on his body), fleas, worms, he had diabetes, and skin allergy,” Simard told Bored Panda in an interview. “Aslan is a very affectionate cat. He forgot his outdoor life, he doesn’t try to go outside.”

The tabby had since been named Aslan, after the lion in The Chronicles of Narnia series. A checkup found that he was not feral, but was a lost animal companion. Simard believed he was left abandoned by irresponsible owners.

“His blood work was very bad and he had to stay hospitalized a few days so he could be stablized before going to his foster family,” Simard added.

The founder said Aslan has been released and would be able to fully recover at a foster home.
