The Animal Kingdom Foundation (AKF) in Capas, Tarlac is calling on the public to help them provide food and shelter for more than 100 dogs they’ve rescued over the years.

The coronavirus pandemic has also taken a toll on the animal rescue and rehabilitation center as they expressed concern over funds after the enhanced community quarantine in Tarlac was extended.

In a newsletter, AKF said they made “drastic adjustments to stretch whatever donations we receive but, like other shelters around the world, we are feeling the insecurity of the future.”

Currently, the center is caring for 140 rescued dogs. They hope more people think about adopting one of them or even donate to their foundation to help feed and care for the animals.

“What will happen in the coming months, we dread to think. As we have been saying all along, every centavo of your donations count,” AKF said. “As long as we have dogs in our care and supporters reporting activities of dog slaughter, AKF will never abandon the advocay.”
