A Bonnethead shark has been killed by a moray eel at Cameron Park Zoo in Texas earlier this year, according to reports by The Dallas Morning.
The four-year-old shark was moved across the country from Chattanooga’s Tennessee Aquarium, because he was bullied by sand tiger sharks, in November last year.
Named Loki by his former trainers and keeper, the shark died after being attacked with a moray eel.
“It’s like one of your dogs kills another dog,” told Terri Cox to The Dallas Morning. “It’s one of those things you can’t predict.”
Plans to relocate Loki’s brother, Thor, to the same zoo has been put on hold because of what happened.
