A 59-year-old man loves to go to the park with his furry companion Bella. To make sure that his best bud always has a good stick to play with on their walks, the hooman had a brilliant idea.
While trimming trees next to his home in Kaiapoi, New Zealand, Andrew Taylor came up with the idea of creating a “stick library” for dogs.
He realized he could put the branches off to a good use and collected them, sanded them and made a box just for it to keep them safe in at the park.
“While trimming the trees, my dad found himself with a lot of dead branches, and knowing from experience how hard it can be to find a good stick, and that the new dog park was opening soon, he had the idea that he would save them and put them in some kind of box,” Tayla Reece, Taylor’s daughter, said.
Tayla said her father’s invention became a hot among dogs and their humans at the park.
“All the dog owners appreciate it as they all have experienced the ‘good stick search’ which isn’t always fruitful, it’s an idea that just makes sense to them,” said Tayla.
