Animals and humans alike painted the town red — among other rainbow colors — during the “Love Laban 2 Everyone” Pride March in June.
FASHION WITH A FUR-POSE
Members of the LGBTQIA+ community from all over the country gathered together with allies and celebrities for the festive parade, led by Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte.
During the colorful affair, Cat and Dog fashionistas showed the public what fashion with a “fur-pose” was all about.
Animal Kingdom Foundation volunteers and advocates also had a booth set up to share their valuable work with everyone.
DIFFERENT GENDERS, DIFFERENT SPECIES
Animal companions came in rainbow costumes with their human guardians, either marching along, resting in their humans’ arms, or relaxing in their strollers.
Participants gathered to promote the message of equality, with the majority of the LGBTQIA+ community being animal advocates themselves, treating their animal companions as part of the family.
RECORD-BREAKING
This year’s affair was the biggest yet, with a headcount of 228 thousand breaking last year’s 110 thousand.
About 212 thousand of these came from Quezon City, not counting the animals joining the celebration, according to statistics provided by Pride PH.
PAGEANT PRIDE
Cat And Dog Fashionistas founder Adrian Stephen Cabuhat joined Philippine representatives Donald Lapez — the first-ever to win at the Mister Bear International pageant, a body positive pageant held this year — and Kyla Carizal — competing in Florida at the Miss World Imperial Beauty 2024.
