A lot of people adore their pets, so much so that pet ownership has continued to improve all across the globe. Animal companions have been considered as part of the families and are now commonly called as “furbabies” in the household.

A new study conducted by trade group American Pet Products Association showed a data that showed Americans were on top of the world when it comes to spending so much money for their pets, most especially their dogs.

Two in three households own one. Most of them have dogs, which outnumbers cats by about five to four according to market-research firm GfK.

Euromonitor International, a research firm, reported that the pet-care market grew by over 66% in the last ten years and Americans spent more than $52bn on their pets last year.
