In order to raise funds for her dog’s chemotherapy, a woman set up her own cupcake stand in Plaza Zaragoza in the city of Hermosillo in north-western Mexico.
24-year-old Veronica Yoselin Martinez Macias said she had just adopted the pooch a few weeks ago from a man who sold some birds to her mother.
“He has a lump in his neck, he was treated by the vet who said it was an infection and it became smaller but then I touched his body and realized he has lumps all over his body,” Macias told the local media.
Macias, mother of a three-year-old child and pet hairdresser, has started to sell cupcakes by the street during weekends to pay for her dog Max’s treatment expenses.
“I paid 400 MXN (1,082 PhP) for vitamins and 1,200 MXN for the biopsy. I also have savings in case something happens and I need to take him to the vet,” Macias said. “He will need chemotherapy to remove the lumps but the doctor does not know what kind he will need yet.”
According to reports, the Husky is suffering from neoplasia, which is an abnormal and excessive growth of tissue that can be malignant tumors in the body.
