The BLB Project, a youth-led non-profit organization, is focused on educating and advocating about animal welfare in the Philippines and raising funds for local shelters.
After typhoon Ulysses struck the country, hundreds to thousands of people and animal companions were left homeless and in need of assistance. The organization is now not just raising funds for local animal shelters, but also to help humans get back on their feet.
They just finished their first batch of donations to the San Mateo pound, where 70 dogs have been rescued from the flood. For the second batch of funds they would collect, the group hopes to donate it through the Animal Kingdom Foundation, and also provide some to Bangon, Pilipinas, an initiative by Veejay Detablan for the victims in Tuguegarao, Marikina, San Mateo, and Isabela.
