Police received a report on Friday about a dog tied to a tree in Cranbury Park, Norwalk. Animal control later on identified the dog to be a female pit breed and is about three years old.
A note was also attached to the dog’s collar that gave rescuers more information about the dog.
“To whomever loves dogs, she’s an amazing dog,” the note read. “House trained. Brendal and Bully. Aug. 12 she’ll be 3 years. Human friendly. Dog friendly. All shots and a sweet heart. Her name is Annabell. Couldn’t afford her. Please help.”
Along with the note, it appears the dog’s name is Annabell. She is now being cared for by the local animal shelter.
Animal control officials reminded that it is illegal to abandon animals.
Aside from Annabell, Norwalk’s animal shelter is currently housing another dog who had been found abandoned this weekend.
