Greenville Zoo recently welcomed a new giraffe and they are looking for suggestions on what to name the animal.
According to Greenville News, the zoo is looking at the choices Penzi, Asani, Jengo, and Kellan. Penzi is short for Wapenzi, which is Swahili for dear, meanwhile Asani means rebellions. Jengo, on the other hand, means building or growth, and Kellan means powerful. These names were said to be chosen by the primary keeper of the giraffes, because the newest giraffe in the family was born on her birthday.
The public could still vote for the name they see fit at the zoo’s website here: Greenville Zoo. Voting will be until Monday, and the chosen name will be announced on Tuesday.
The male giraffe was born 6 foot and 1 inch tall (1.82 meters) and weighed 165 pounds (74.8 kilograms). His parents are Autumn and Miles.
