In 2016, a woman was just walking along the streets when she heard a whining sound from a nearby dumpster. Her instincts immediately made her walk to the dumpster and check where the cry was coming from.

She was shocked to find a very little calico kitten, so young that its eyes had not even opened yet. The woman tried to look for its mother, but it was nowhere to be found.

Terrified of what might happen to the kitten, the woman adopted it and took it to the nearest veterinary clinic to have it checked.

Apparently, the kitten was suffering from a broken leg and gangrene in one paw at just one-week old.

The woman, already an animal rescuer and foster of stray animals, she became the guardian for the kitten. She bottle-fed the cat every day until she began to improve her health.

Unfortunately, the vets said the kitten’s paw was far too gone to be saved, so it had to be surgically removed right away.

With her strong will to survive and great personality, the kitten was then named “Martyr” by her rescuer who never left her side in those critical days.
