17-year-old Caitlin Wynne shared heartbreaking photos of her dogs more than a year apart, which showed Harry still leaving a space in bed for his best friend for years.

Lhasa Apsos Harry and George grew up as puppies and did everything together, said Wynne. George was bought back in 2004 when he was almost a year old, while Harry was still a young pup. Growing up, they played, ate, and slept together.

Sadly, 15-year-old George was diagnosed with kidney failure and Wynne could not do anything about it but to have George put down.

“I slept on the sofa the night before we had George put to sleep to keep him company and Harry was pacing around the room crying, and wouldn’t sleep all night as if he knew something was wrong,” Wynne said. “We took Harry to the vets with us when George was put to sleep and stayed next to him the whole time. Harry grieved for a couple of weeks.”

A year after the death of his best friend, Harry still sleeps next to George’s sofa, but he never goes into George’s space.

“He sleeps on floor to the side of the bed now quite often but I didn’t realize why until I was looking through photos of them both from a year ago and saw the photo I tweeted which made me realize,” she added.
