Many people are forced to stay at home to prevent the further spread of the deadly coronavirus, and for some, it is a very lonely affair.

Since no one can go out and even meet wild and fluffy animals at the zoo or pet shop, Google offers a new way to get in touch with animals. Through a simple Google search, it can offer you a variety of augmented-reality animals.

Here’s how you can see them!

It was nearly a year ago since Google put 3D objects in its Google search. But first, you have to make sure your phone is an AR-ready device.

You will need iOS11 or higher for iPhones and iPads. For Android phones, it need to be ARCore compatible.

Once you’re sure your phone is compatible, launch Google Chrome (and/or Safari on iPhone of iPad), then search for your animal. On the page, there will be a Google information box saying “View in 3D”.

Click on that and the viewer will appear guiding you on where you can place your virtual animals. Follow its instructions and move your phone around so it can scan the floor, then there you have it! You have an AR animal!
