A survey by veterinary care provider Banfield Pet Hospital, which operates more than 1,000 veterinary hospitals across US and Puerto Rico, showed the impact of the deadly coronavirus on the relationship between humans and their pets.
Most of the survey respondents (84%) said they have a better understanding of their pets’ health, and 67% are planning new care procedures as a result.
In an earlier survey by Banfield Pet Hospital, it showed that nearly half of the respondents (45%) said spending more time with their companion animals during quarantine contributed to their home’s happiness, and 39% said their pet helped lower their coronavirus-related anxiety.
Respondents also believe their pets have kept them sane and healthy during the pandemic. 38% said their pets are happier than before the pandemic and 35% believe their pets are now more playful after spending more time together.
