Jwall from PrintThatThing decided to make a 3D armor for his orange tabby cat, Bobo. He said that with the 3D armor, his feline is always battle-friendly and not afraid of any threats or dangers.

“Now cats all over the world can roam safely,” he says. “The entire design can be built with one hundred percent 3D printable parts.”

Talking about the design, Jwall explained how he made the 3D armor from the beginning.

“We started off first just drawing out how we wanted the overall look and vive of the armor to be,” he said. “I suggested that it should have spikes, because I always pet [Bobo] in a reverse pattern so his hair’s all crazy and he looks like a spiky tiger.”

He added that he designed the armor to be functional for the warrior. One of the armor’s plates has a small hole for a leash and an ID tag has been attached to the breastplate.

In his video, he said he was not done with the design of the armor yet, because there’s no helmet. He asked his viewers to send in sketches of their designs.

One sender got Jwall’s attention, and it was Craig Petersen.

Petersen sent Jwall three designs that were titled “The Oni,” “Eye of the Scorpion,” and “Battle Kitteh of the Universe,” which was Jwall’s chosen design.

It took a couple of weeks for Jwall to make Petersen’s design into a 3D program, but when it has been printed, Bobo modeled the helmet proudly!

Jwall offers the design for free and he says that if you’re having trouble with 3D printing technology, you can rely on his page for some tutorial!
