A horrendous video footage showing a horse dragged by its neck and kicked in the face has recently been released to the public.
The footage was filmed on Monday when the travelling group arrived at the Radcliffe-on-Trent in Nottinghamshire. The man found in the video deliberately beat the horse by dragging it by its neck with a rope and kicked it in the face before walking away.
The poor animal staggered to come back up to its feet and was frozen in fear as its tormentor can be seen easily walking away like nothing happened at the end of the clip.
According to local reports, dozens of caravans recently came into the sports field of the South Nottinghamshire Academy.
Local residents spoke about their frustration seeing the travellers’ actions in previous days.
“We are at our wits’ end and have been sickened by the behavior,” one person, who asked not to be named, told NottinghamshireLive in an interview. “The horse was dragged by a rope around the neck and was then kicked in the head. It is heartbreaking.”
She added that they have called the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA), which has opened an investigation on the case along with the police.
The local added that they have seen other travelers swinging a dog around the neck. They even started fires and caused noise.
“Nottinghamshire Police has been made aware of an unauthorized encampment at a school playing field on Bingham Road in Radcliffe-upon-Trent,” a spokesman from Nottinghamshire Police said. “The Rushcliffe Neighbourhood Policing Team has been in the area to engage with and respond to any concerns from both the local and travelling communities.”
